Bloom
Inspired by the beauty of nature this work has been created to capture a fleeting moment in time through observation. My late father used to bring me flowers from his garden, for no reason, almost every time he came to my home. This work is a tribute to him giving more meaning to the idea of 'stop and smell the roses'.
Studying different blooms, I explored their colours and structures, finding each one uniqued. These paintings use layered acrylic paint and mark making in a close-up format to emphasise these details. Stop and look closely and appreciate the moment.
